BURNCOOL GEL DRESSING

Burns happen without warning, anywhere and at any time.
Everyone is at risk of being burnt at home, work or play.
The repercussions of someone being burnt are potentially very serious, including debilitating scarring, rehabilitation and loss of income and exorbitant medical costs.
Theory of Operation
Approximately 85% of burns are small, first or second degree burns.
Initial treatment for this type of burn involves stopping the process, cooling the burn and protecting the area from bacterial contamination.
Application of topical an agent to cool and soothe a burn followed by a loose protective covering is typical first-aid applications.
Immediate Treatment of Burns
Trauma and damage to the BURNT tissue must be minimised.
Burns need to be cooled immediately.
Bums need to be protected against infection.
The MCP BurnCool dressing provides all these essential treatments.
The dressing provides the essential cooling, moistening, soothing and protection needed for the immediate first aid on burns and scalds.
A MCP BurnCool dressing is effective on all bum types, which occur at home, or the workplace.
The MCP BurnCool dressing also provides a sterile, antiseptic physical barrier to bacterial contamination.
Once professional treatment is available the MCP BurnCool dressing can easily be removed with water.
Description of the MCP BurnCool dressing Products
Each MCP BurnCool dressing consists of a sponge dressing which is saturated with water based gel, which is non-toxic, non-irritant and does not contain any fats and greases.
100g tubes, 250ml spray and three dressing sizes in the foil sachets. 10 x10 cm, 20 x 20 cm, and 60 x 60 cm.

1.         Plain Gel
The Hydrogel will be available in single-use polyethylene teraphtalate lined foil sachets sealed to preserve the product until opened.
2.        Dressing
The Dressing is composed of a soft open-cell polyether-based foam sheet saturated with the Hydrogel.
The foam base provides a physical barrier to protect the bum area.
The dressing is non-adherent, non-toxic and non-irritating.
The elastic properties accommodate joint flexion and any oedema that may occur from the bum.
The dressing is packaged in a low polyethylene bag, which has been heat-sealed to preserve the product until opened.
3.         Blanket
The Blanket is composed of pure virgin wool material saturated with the hydrogel.
The blanket will also be packaged in a polyethylene bag, heat-sealed to preserve the blanket until opened.
Indications for use
The MCP BurnCool dressing is intended for single use as a premedical first aid for first and second degree burns and scalds to cool, soothe and moisturise the burnt area.
The Gel, Dressing and blanket can be used on small to moderate sized first- and second-degree burn injuries caused by heat or scalding.
MCP BurnCool dressing provides an antiseptic physical barrier to bacterial contamination.
Each dressing or blanket is provided in a sealed, individual package that can be stored in convenient locations for immediate access for first aid treatment.
How to apply a MCP BurnCool dressing
Apply the MCP BurnCool dressing to the BURNT area as soon as possible
This action instantly shields and protects the wound against infection while moistening and cooling it at the same time.
In this way trauma to the burnt area is minimised.
The sooner the MCP BurnCool dressing is applied, the more effective it is in relieving the pain and minimising trauma or damage to the tissue.
